DESCRIPTION:The innovation cluster&nbsp\;Circular Saxony in cooperation with the Fraunhofer IWU cordially invites you to the 1st working group meeting &bdquo\;Sustainable Medical Technology&ldquo\;. Together we will discuss challenges and solutions to close material cycles in medical technology. The following key questions will take centre stage: Where do we currently stand? How can we organise circular material flows?\nSustainable medical technology faces many challenges: today\, well over half of all medical devices are disposable products\, most of which are made of plastic.This is another reason why hospitals are the fifth-largest producer of waste in Germany. Only through innovative circular approaches (design for recycling\, reuse\, efficient collection and recycling processes\, ...)\, for example for disposable medical products\, can it be possible to return raw materials used in medical technology to the materials cycle. To achieve this\, however\, manufacturers\, hospitals and medical practices\, disposal and recycling companies and regulatory bodies must all pull together.
